Glazing Climatop Light

New, environmentally friendly glazing units with 3 mm thick glass panes are light and practical, guarantee perfect thermal insulation, light transmittance and similar sound insulation as in case of 4 mm thick glass panes.

Lighter glass reduces the weight carried by the whole construction, which lengthens the life cycle of fittings.

The glazing unit CLIMATOP XN LIGHT reduces material consumption, which entails limiting CO2 emissions severely, and more effective environmental protection.

Product specification

Advantages of the glass CLIMATOP XN LIGHT:

  • up to 25% lighter than corresponding structures with 4 mm glass - easier installation of glazing units and windows
  • environmentally friendly – lower CO2 emissions in the production process
  • triple glazing only 10% heavier than standard double glazing
  • longer life cycle of fittings and window frames
  • possible combinations with other glass types eg. solar or sound control
  • available for both new buildings and existing buildings being renovated

Guidelines for using the glass CLIMATOP XN LIGHT:

  • in case of 3mm thick building glass, one should take into account the static calculations concerning windload at a given location and with a particular glazing structure (EUROKOD 1991 / DIN18008)
  • considering the fact of concavity and convexity of insulated glazing as described in EN1279, it is not possible to use spacer bars narrower than 12 mm with 3 mm thick glass
  • in case of 3mm thick glass, it is not possible to use muntins
  • in case of glass with the structure 4/16/3/16/4 or 4/16/3/16/3, the 4 mm thick glass pane may be replaced with thicker glass, e.g. 33.1 /44.2 / 6 etc.
  • no side of Climatop Light glazing can be shorter than 400 mm
  • no side of Climatop Light glazing can be longer than 1500 mm
